The Virtual Tavern is officially celebrating its 2nd Birthday today. 🥳
THANK YOU to all taverners new and old. Plus a HUGE thank you to the whole team who have kept the good ship tavern running smoothly, through both the rough and smooth seas:- Neil, Adam, Brigitte, Carla, Carole, Jane, Justin, Sarah, Simon and Steph. 🥳
Our ethos is, and always will be about being kind and focussing on fun and positivity. Here is just a very small selection of the many amazing things we have done over the last 2 years. 🎉
It has been an fantastic 2 years and our little old group keeps growing and growing, with our current membership around 48,700. If you would like to be part of an amazingly supportive group started during lockdown to help with loneliness and mental health, head over to our facebook group and join us. 👍
The Main Tavern demonstrates our main ethos and therefore there is no religion, football/sport, politics or Covid and certainly no swearing, as the language is strictly PG. 🍻
We have The Singles Lounge, a place for singles to mingle, empathise with each other and offer support. Friendship is the main key, but there is always an opportunity for romance to blossom. We have even had some wonderful relationships formed from the Singles Lounge. So you never know, Mr or Miss Right may be just a conversation away. 🥂
The Rainbow Room is a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and friends. It’s a place to hang out and meet like-minded people and have a fabulous time. 🌈
As the main Tavern and the other rooms have a strict no Politics, Sport or Religion policy, The Sports Bar was created as a place to champion your sport, discuss wins and losses, and just have a good old time. ⚽️
The Student Union bar is still in it's infancy and is a place for students to share ideas and to generally connect with others navigating their way through the world of studying. We'd love this room to grow and would encourage you to share this link with all your famiies who have students wanting to 'hang out' with other like-minded individuals. 🎓
We have had silent disco's, quiz nights, party nights and have been very fortunate to have had sponsorship from some amazing companies donating fabulous prize give-aways. Our hardworking Landlord Neil was also given a Mayor's award for all his efforts. Plus, we've even been featured on ITV's Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway! 📺
We have our very own online shop, where you can purchase your awesome Tavern merchandise, from beermats & stickers, to t-shirts, hoodies & caps. 🧢
Our 'Tavern on Tour' Nights are ever expanding and becoming increasingly popular!! Our next event is in Newport, South Wales, on 16th April. A 70s themed night for strictly over 18s. Tickets are almost sold out, so hurry over to the events page to get yours before it's too late!! 🕺
Our aim is to take 'Tavern on Tour' around the British Isles and maybe internationally, so that we can meet our lovely members from around the world. 🌎
The Virtual Tavern would not be the amazing, safe place it is without our generous, wonderful, caring (and sometimes funny) members. You are all what makes it work.
